WowTogether

Find a leveling buddy nearby. Go through anonymous player cards, match on shared quests and playstyle, and whisper when you both say yes. Names stay hidden until you match.

Latest: v0.1.0

WowTogether helps you find a leveling buddy nearby who plays like you do: same quests, same pace, same hours, same sense of humor. Leveling is better with a buddy.

How it works

  1. Set up your card in a few minutes: today's mood, playstyle, pace, play times, what you're looking for, a few favorites, hobbies, a short bio, and a 13-question quiz that finds your player type (Completionist, Wanderer, Guildie or Duelist).
  2. Go through cards of other WowTogether players, one at a time. No names, just level, class, zone, a short bio, the quests you share and what you have in common. Pick Pass or Match, or use the left and right arrow keys.
  3. When you both pick Match, it's a match! You see each other's names, and a popup offers a ready-made whisper that mentions a quest you share. Whisper or invite them from the Matches tab.

Features

  • Quest-first matching. People on the same quests come first, then the people most like you (language, play hours, playstyle, quiz vibe, mood and the rest of your profile), then the closest zones.
  • Shared quests on every card. You see which quests you both have, so you know you have something to do together.
  • Daily mood. "Feeling chatty", "Need help with a quest" and more show at the top of your card for 12 hours. Right-click the minimap heart to change it.
  • Player quiz. Your type shows on your card. The rest of your answers stay private and quietly help match you with people who share your vibe. Strong vibe clashes are hidden, and you can turn that off in Profile.
  • Hard passes. Mark what you'd rather avoid, like politics, drama or rushing everything. They're never shown, and people who feel the same are brought together.
  • Level range. See players within 2, 3, 5 or 10 levels of you, or any level.
  • Pass, Match or Ignore. Passed players come back after they gain 3 levels. Ignored ones never do (undo from History).
  • Matches and History. Whisper, invite or unmatch your matches. Rematch past matches from History.
  • Minimap heart. Click to open, right-click to set your mood, drag to move it around the minimap. Hover it to see who's online, your queue and your matches.

Commands

  • /wt: open or close the window (/wowtogether also works)
  • /wt setup: set up your card again
  • /wt quiz: take or retake the player quiz
  • /wt minimap: hide or show the minimap button
  • /wt demo: add 5 practice players to try matching on your own (run it again to remove them)
  • /wt help: list every command

Good to know

  • You only see players who also run WowTogether, on your realm and faction, while they're online. Tell your friends.
  • What's shared: your card goes to other WowTogether players over a hidden chat channel. It holds your level, class and zone (never your exact position), your profile and bio, up to 25 quests from your quest log (if "Share my quests" is on), your language, time zone and professions, and your quiz type and vibe scores (never your answers). Your hard passes are sent too but never shown to anyone.
  • When you pick Match or Unmatch, a hidden addon message goes to that one player. Their addon shows nothing unless they pick Match too.
  • WowTogether never shows your name before you both pick Match, and nobody finds out if you passed on or ignored them.
  • Players on your WoW ignore list never show up.
  • Turn off "Show my card to others" or "Share my quests" in Profile anytime.
  • The hidden channel takes one of your 10 chat channel slots.
  • Your card, matches and settings are saved per character.
